Why are reboots being given the boot??

It’s the Millennial cry heard around the world.

Devastated.

That’s how I feel right now.

Maybe I’m exaggerating a little. Maybe I’m not. The truth is, many Millennial hearts have been shattered twice now by Disney/Hulu.

First, they take away our Lizzie McGuire reboot because it seems they don’t want to see our lovely relatable Lizzie remain relatable as she moves into a more adult world.

Now, they’ve taken away the Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot, possibly because, according to Sarah Michelle Gellar, *someone* involved in the production may not have been a Buffy fan or have ever even seen the show, therefore none of us get to see it again.

One might assume these production companies actually want to lose money, because I’m telling you right now, there are MILLIONS of us that have been CRYING OUT for YEARS to see these characters again and would pay good money to see them.

Why?

Because life is fucking hard right now, man. These shows represent an easier time in our lives when we would rush home from school to see what Lizzie was up to then catch Buffy a couple of hours later kicking some demon ass. For younger Millennials that watched Lizzie, the shows slightly overlapped when they were airing, so it was a big deal. We’re also not embarrassed to say that we still love to watch a few episodes of Lizzie or indulge in The Lizzie McGuire Movie, and lord knows we can’t go long without rewatching Buffy.

Honestly, what are these people thinking!?

Fortunately, we have something coming very soon from Miley Cyrus regarding Hannah Montana, and though she may be closer to Gen Z than Millennial, we still have a lot of love for her and also enjoy watching some old episodes, along with The Hannah Montana Movie. It’s not a reboot, it’s more of an interview with Miley about her time on the show, some BTS stuff and maybe a performance or two, but still, we’ll take what we can get right now as a salve for our wounded hearts.

Seriously, Disney and Hulu better sort their shit out, because Millennials are not a generation to be trifled with right now, believe you me. We’ve had our hearts and souls broken more than enough times. Push us more and don’t be surprised if we decided to enact revenge on these companies that deign to dangle such tantalising refreshments before us only to whip them away at the last second.

We can only hope and pray that these shows can somehow get the green light again, because with the IPs lying with Disney, there’s no chance of them appearing elsewhere. But we can still hope, right? After all…
